Talking Pumpkin

Posted by on Aug 28, 2013 in Blog, Installation Art

I was asked by Wedgwood Baptist Church to do a projection mapping project for their Fall Festival in 2012. Every year during Halloween the church has a family friendly festival where the entire city is invited and @ 3000 people show up. They pass out candy to kids in costumes, they have live music, moonwalk inflatables, show films, play games and more. I decided to make a talking pumpkin that would talk to the kids along with wowing them with super powers and visuals that could be VJ’d live. I figured the pumpkin could also try to encourage kids to get inspired and when you feel down, to create things. Kids have such an endless supply of creativity that I think anything that encourages them to create will help engrave those neural pathways of artistic creativity.
